Revision Rhinoplasty in Istanbul
A second operation for a nose whose first surgery left problems behind, planned with the extra care a revision demands.
When a revision is considered
Some noses need a second look. After a first rhinoplasty, a patient may be left with an irregular shape, a tip that does not sit right, breathing that worsened instead of improving, or simply a result they cannot make peace with. Healing problems and complications can also leave their mark.
Revision rhinoplasty exists for exactly these situations. It is usually more demanding than a first operation: the earlier surgery changes the cartilage and leaves scar tissue, and both must be taken into account in the new plan. That is why the examination matters even more the second time. Dr. Teker assesses what the first operation changed, what your nose needs now, and tells you plainly what a revision can and cannot address.
What to expect at your first visit
Bring what you know about your previous operation. Dr. Teker examines your nose inside and out, listens to whether it is the appearance, the breathing or both that bothers you, and explains his assessment in clear words. Timing is part of the plan: a revision is normally considered only after the tissues of the first surgery have fully settled. Nothing is decided until your questions are answered.
Frequently asked questions
Why might a revision be needed?
The common reasons are irregularities in shape after the first surgery, breathing problems, complications of healing, or an appearance the patient is not at peace with. The examination shows which of these apply to your nose.
How soon after the first surgery can a revision be done?
Only after the tissues have fully settled, which usually takes months and can approach a year. Dr. Teker will advise you personally on the right timing for your case.
Is a revision more difficult than a first rhinoplasty?
Often, yes. Scar tissue and altered cartilage make the work more delicate, which is why revision experience matters when choosing your surgeon.
